Due to numerous requests from kariharriscasting.com members, KHC is pleased to announce we will be conducting half day TVC Audition Workshops at Fox Studios on March 14th & 15th, 2009.
THE AUDITION WORKSHOP IS IDEAL FOR YOU IF -
• You have ever left an audition and questioned yourself about what you could have done better.
• You have wondered what the Casting Director or Director really thought about your performance.
• You wish you could obtain honest feedback while auditioning.
• You ask yourself what you could be doing differently to land the role.
WHAT IS THE AUDITION WORKSHOP?
The Audition Workshop is a practical tool and resource, which provides a unique interactive environment for actors to work within. The workshop allows the actor to experiment, learn vital audition techniques, receive direct feedback from a Casting Director and gain insight into what it takes to achieve a strong and memorable audition AND have fun.
The aim of the workshop is to HELP each actor to:
• Understand the fundamental skills needed when auditioning, thus building confidence and competency when auditioning.
• Learn how to get a call-back and land the role.
• Learn the art of non-acting, a secret for success.
• Understand the importance of taking risks.
• Understand the importance of character preparation and scene development.
• Learn what the magic bag is and what to do with it.
• Increase motivation.
• Understand who those people are behind the camera & what their expectations are.
• Learn techniques that help take away the daunting jitters.
HOW IS THE AUDITION WORKSHOP STRUCTURED?
The Audition Workshop is conducted as though it is an actual screen-testing situation with a Casting Director putting each actor through the paces of an audition. Throughout each performance the Casting Director will explore, with the actor, techniques that will enhance performance. Each actor's performance will be discussed by the Casting Director and class in order to provide the optimum amount of feedback and provide a behind the camera perspective for each participant.
The total number of actors attending is a maximum of ten and a minimum of seven. With such small classes you are guaranteed the attention and feedback that you need to start improving and working on your technique.
WHERE IS THE AUDITION WORKSHOP HELD?
The Audition Workshop is held at The Audition Room at Fox Studios in Moore Park.
WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?
Each actor is required to bring a current CV and headshot to be critiqued along with their performance.
Scripts to be prepared by participants will be sent at least 48 hours prior to the workshop via email.
HOW MUCH DOES THE AUDITION WORKSHOP COST?
We are offering half day (4 x hour) TVC Workshops at $99 per person plus GST.
You have the choice of the following -
TVC Workshop for Teens - ages 13 to 16 years
TVC Workshop for Adults - ages 17+
The payment deadline is March 5th, 2009, but get in early - with such small classes, spots are sure to fill up fast.
CANCELLATIONS
We require at least 7 days notice in advance of a cancellation. We can not refund any fee unless we have been given at least 7 days notice in order to replace numbers in the class. Thank you.
