WHAT'S IMPROVCAMP ALL ABOUT?

Improvisation, lifelong friendships and the outdoors all in one package! IMPROVCAMP is unlike any other camp out there-it's an exciting experience for high school students who love the art of improvisational theatre and now it's coming to Australia! Improvcamp has run in Canada for eight years to rave reviews and sold out programmes.

At the five and a half day camp held at Point Wolstoncroft, on the New South Wales central coast, young improvisers will receive comprehensive instruction in improvisational theatre by CIG professionals from all over Canada, AIPA staff and guest tutors for Improv Australia. Participants will be organized into ensembles that will participate in multiple daily workshops, gaining skills and learning about their craft. There are performances each night and many downtime activities to choose from, such as canoeing, archery, tennis, rock climbing, high ropes, swimming, sailing and hiking-a great way to meet other young improvisers from across Australia and Canada.

The camp programme is the best improvisational training that CIG has to offer. Each day at IMPROVCAMP participants take intensive workshops from some of the most talented instructors from across Canada and beyond, which cover all facets of improvisational theatre. They also participate in camp-wide games, outdoor activities, swim (if it is warm enough), sail and kayak on the lake and work together on performance projects. At night, IMPROVCAMP becomes a venue for Improv theatre and entertainment as well as campfires, extravaganzas and numerous other surprises. And dance parties... so many dance parties. This programme is for improvisers of all skill and experience levels.
