Due to numerous requests from kariharriscasting.com members we're pleased to announce that we will be conducting a full day Drama Audition Workshop at The Audition Room at Fox Studios on Saturday 20th November, 2010.

WHAT IS THE AUDITION WORKSHOP?

 

The Audition Workshop is a practical tool and resource, which provides a unique interactive environment for actors to work within. The workshop allows the actor to experiment, learn vital audition techniques, receive direct feedback from a Casting Director and gain insight into what it takes to achieve a strong and memorable audition AND have fun.

 

The aim of the workshop is to HELP each actor to...

 

Understand the fundamental skills needed when auditioning, thus building confidence and competency

 

Learn how to get a call-back and land the role

 

Learn the art of non-acting, a secret for success

 

Understand the importance of taking risks

 

Understand the importance of character preparation and scene development

 

Learn what the magic bag is and what to do with it

 

Increase motivation

 

Understand who the people are behind the camera & what their expectations are

 

Learn techniques that help take away the daunting jitters

 

 

HOW IS THE AUDITION WORKSHOP STRUCTURED?

 

The Audition Workshop is conducted as though it is an actual screen-testing situation with a Casting Director putting each actor through the paces of an audition. Throughout each performance the Casting Director will explore, with the actor, techniques that will enhance performance. Each actor's performance will be discussed by the Casting Director and class in order to provide the optimum amount of feedback and provide a behind the camera perspective for each participant.

 

The maximum number of participants is 10. With such a small classyou are guaranteed the attention and feedback that you need to start improving and working on your technique.

 

 

WHAT ARE THE PREREQUISITES FOR ATTENDING THE WORKSHOP?

 

In order to participate in The Audition Workshop - Drama you must have already completed The Audition Workshop 101 (or TVC)

 

 

WHERE IS THE AUDITION WORKSHOP HELD?

 

The Audition Workshop is held at The Audition Room at Fox Studios in Moore Park.

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?

 

Each actor is required to bring a current CV and 8 x 10 Headshot to be critiqued along with their performance.

Scripts to be prepared by participants will be sent at least 48 hours prior to the workshop via email.

 

 

HOW MUCH DOES THE AUDITION WORKSHOP - DRAMA COST?

 

We are offering a full day (8 x hrs including 30 min break) Drama Audition Workshop at $218.90 per person including GST & Transaction Fee

 

The Audition Workshop - Drama is only open to actors who have already attended The Audition Workshop 101 (or TVC)

CANCELLATIONS

 

We require at least 7 days notice in advance of a cancellation. We can not refund any fee unless we have been given at least 7 days notice in order to replace numbers in the class. Thank you.
