Australians In Film Post Voting Details for Aussies Overseas

An Australian Federal Election has been called for Saturday 21 August 2010. The Australian Consulate-General in Los Angeles will operate a polling centre from 9-20 August. Those wishing to vote in person will be able to do so at the Consulate-General, 2029 Century Park East, Suite 3150 (31st floor), Los Angeles 90067. The Consulate will be open from 9:00am to 5:00pm Monday 9 August to Friday 20 August. The cut-off for voting at the Consulate will be 5pm local time on Friday, 20 August 2010. Please note there will be no voting at the Consulate on Saturday 21 August.

 

Those wishing to lodge a Postal Vote should download an application form from http://aec.gov.au/election/pva.htm and return it to the Consulate via fax at 310 229 2380 or scan and email to losangeles@dfat.gov.au. Postal Vote Applications must be received at the Consulate by 5pm on Wednesday 18 August.

 

To vote you must already be enrolled on the Australian electoral roll. Check if you are enrolled. If you are already enrolled to vote, but need to update your address details on the electoral roll you must update your details and return your form to the Australian Electoral Commission by 8pm (local time) Thursday 22 July 2010. If you are not enrolled to vote it is now too late to enrol to vote in the 2010 federal election. However you can still enrol to vote in future elections by completing an enrolment form.
