New California Laws Mean Less Risk for Actors Going OverseasPosted Date: 13 April 2011 at 04:21:33PM
The State of California have recently enforced laws passed in October, 2009 to help protect talent from engaging in scams. The legislation is called CA AB 1319: Protection of Members From Unscrupulous Talent Services. This means actors from Australia can feel safe when signing with registered Talent Agents and Managers in California and enrolling in Hollywood acting courses, workshops and programs.
If you are an actor considering enrolling in an acting course in California you can familiarize yourself with the legislation by visiting www.leginfo.ca.gov, selecting "California Law", "Labor Code" and viewing sections 1701 to 1705.
