Fast + Fresh 2008 Gala Final

KHC Casting Associate, Alicia, recently attended the Fast + Fresh 2008 Gala Final as a judge and awarded Best Actor, Best Actress and Best Director a total cash prize of $750. Best Actor and Best Actress were also awarded free attendance to one of KHC's Audition Workshops valued at $200 each as well as CV, headshot & showreel critiques and a special Go-See with KHC.

 

Laura Shirley of St. Patrick's College in Sutherland won Best Actress for her portrayal of a psychotic doctor in '3:14'.

 

Jack Monro of Oxley College in Bowral won Best Actor for playing himself with pizazz and superb deadpan in 'Jack Monro & The Cluedo Conundrum'.

 

Annika Ridley, Catherine Quirk, Josephine Loftus, Nikki Jarmen & Breanne Woulfe of St. Joseph's Catholic College in Gosford won Best Direction for their quirky style and interesting choreography in 'Diseased Incorporated'.

 

Other Fast + Fresh prizes were awarded to Timothy Lyu for his clever take on Macbeth - 'Short Macbetty' and Katoomba High School won the People's Choice award for their play, 'Generation Y'.

 

Overall it was a successful night and KHC was impressed with the high standard of writing, production and performance from all schools involved. These Fast + Fresh kids could potentially give some Short & Sweet entries a run for their money! KHC is looking forward to attending again in 2009.
