Lisa Beach in Australia!!!

Posted Date: 30 June 2009 at 12:48:12PM

Two very exciting workshops for actors taking place in Sydney this July...

Lisa Beach, casting director of such notable films as Walk the Line, 3:10 To Yuma, Wedding Crashers and About Schmidt (to name a few) will be in Sydney in July to scout talent for a film project that she is currently casting. As well as attending the evening performance at Improvcamp 2009 and doing a Free Q&A Session specifically for agents, she is conducting workshops for adult actors. This is a good opportunity for you to meet and work with Lisa, but also for your agent to meet her as well.

We can't recommend David Morris highly enough. He is perhaps one of Canada's best Improvisers and is an amazing tutor.

KHC is not making money from these two events, but have a strong working relationship with AIPA and support them with many of their endeavours because we value any organization who is working to positively affect the Australian film industry and Australian talent development. Also, we feel these workshops are very reasonably priced considering what is on offer. AIPA & KHC believe in supporting the acting community not exploiting it and our goal is to continue to prove that this is possible.

Please see details for the two workshops as follows and if you have any questions please use the KHC Contact Form -

Course description.

"Lisa Beach is known in the industry for discovering talent. She is one of the most respected casting directors in the business and is always in huge demand. Lisa will run actors through sides (they receive 72 hours prior) and then re-direct them. She will spend a few minutes getting to know each actor and looking at their headshots and resumes. Actors will need to have a monologue ready to present in case she wants to see something else from them."

From their resumes, Lisa will adjust each actor's session by taking them through the session at call back level and play with each actor, testing their flexibility, ability to adapt and Improv skills". It will be a huge, exhausting day, but very rewarding for all involved.

So, if you are interested in either of the above two workshops please call (02) 9966 0353 by 15th July OR, when fully enrolled OR email marg.haynes@aipa.com.au.

Have fun!!!
